Manitoba-born actress Tammy Gillis is fast becoming one of Canada's hottest stars, travelling from coast-to-coast working non-stop on exciting film and television productions. She will soon be seen in a guest starring role on the Toronto-shot Showcase series LOST GIRL, as well as a co-starring role on the CW's Vancouver-based SUPERNATURAL, and guest starring role on the Montreal-lensed Spike TV comedy BLUE MOUNTAIN STATE.  These aren’t the only television projects on the horizon for the talented performer; she will also be appearing in a recurring guest star role on Season 3 of the award winning original comedy series LESS THAN KIND, which is shot in her hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The series was recently picked up in the United States by DirecTV, and in Canada, the third season begins airing in January 2012 on HBO Canada and The Movie Network.  


While in university in Winnipeg, fate intervened and Tammy decided to reach for the stars and begin her pursuit of a professional acting career.  She loves supporting independent projects, and got her start working on a number of indies, including her very first acting job on the award-winning short film HEART OF THE WORLD with Guy Maddin. Up next for her in the world of independent films, this versatile actor will be seen in the feature UNDER THE APPLE BOX in which Tammy has the starring lead role of survivor, Leila Bahar.  The feature recently received North American and international distribution.


This Canadian gem has amassed over 30 credits to her name in her burgeoning career. Her onscreen credits include roles in feature films such as WHITE NOISE 2 (starring Nathan Fillion) and SHOOTER (starring Mark Wahlberg). Her MOW's include THE MERMAID CHAIR (starring Kim Basinger) and HOME BY CHRISTMAS (starring Linda Hamilton).  On the small screen, her television credits include a recurring guest starring role on the Douglas Coupland CBC comedy jPOD and a number of other popular series’ such as REAPERSHATTEREDENDGAME and THE L WORD to name a few.  She also recently had the pleasure of working opposite Rachael Leigh Cook, playing her best friend in the Montreal production, the feature film STEALING PARADISE.  She continues to hone her craft through study and training with such masters as Bruce Clayton, Warren Robertson, Ty Olsson, Joe Palese, among others.


Tammy was recently featured as SHARP MAGAZINE's Sharp Woman of the Month, which is 'Canada's Magazine for the Sophisticated Male'.  In 2007, Gillis was chosen as one of FEMME FATALE’s ‘Fresh Faces of the Year’. This hot list is comprised of the top up-and-coming talents from around the world. Femme Fatale is a LA-based global industry magazine.  She was also one of the main spokesmodels for underwear company GINCH GONCH which led her to be in her Ginch Gonch across Canada as well as France, El Salvador, Russia, Mexico, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and the Big Apple: New York City.  

Tammy splits most of her time between Vancouver and Toronto, and continues to travel to LA and across the world for projects.  When she is not busy working on her next role, she is beginning to learn ballet and continuing to be obsessed with the series TRUE BLOOD.
